Our rich outdoor walk starts from the splendid Isola Tiberina, connected to Trastevere with the Ponte Cestio. In front of the island we find Ponte Rotto, while the upstream part of the island is occupied by the Fatebenefratelli Hospital. Next to it we can admire the suggestive church of S. Giovanni Calibita and note the splendid church of Ss. Bartolomeo and Adalberto all'Isola. Continuing our journey, we will be able to see the building of the Confraternity of the Sacconi Rossi and the Pulzella Tower. We will arrive at the Ghetto across the ancient Fabricio bridge, while on the other bank we will be able to observe from the outside the small church of S. Gregorio della Divina Pietà, the place where forced sermons were held to convert Jews; on the left the Synagogue, or Tempio Maggiore, built in 1904 by the architects Costa and Armanni. We will also find ourselves in front of the ancient Portico d'Ottavia and the church of S. Angelo in Pescheria. Further on we will discover vicolo della Reginella, the house of Lorenzo Manili, the fountain in piazza Giudea and piazza Mattei, with the Fontana delle Tartarughe, a small masterpiece designed by the architect Giacomo della Porta and the sculptor Taddeo Landini.
