The Maiocchi15 gallery opens on Thursday 16 March, from 7 pm in via Maiocchi 15 in Milan, the exhibition "A Digital Art Exhibition", a personal exhibition of the works of Giovanni Bindellini. About fifteen digital works by the contemporary artist will be exhibited, made on fine art paper in a limited edition of 5 copies each. His academic training and long working experience in graphic companies and advertising agencies allow him to have great technical ability and excellent command of digital processing tools, which he combines with a strong passion for art history and photography, as is clearly evident in its production. In this sense, the works AlfaBeta and Dreams, homage to Sonia Delaunay are mentioned. Bindellini's works are a hybrid, both in their spectrum of sources and in their technical balance, which embraces rigor on the one hand and experimentation on the other. He is mainly inspired by the language of abstraction as a means of exploring the inner need to create universes and worlds of their own, using a sunny palette, largely linked to the Pop and Op Art traditions of modern art. He is also influenced by the sparkling Milanese design culture, which he tries to evoke with cheerful rhythms and layered curves, as we see in the work Glass marbles. Moving between gestural painting and a virtual grid, he starts from an element and then improvises through an instinctive creative process: simple shapes such as lines, dots and fields of color evolve into geometric landscapes (Night in Manhattan) and abstract cyberspaces of an optical and two-dimensional (Geodesy). Giovanni Bindellini builds and de-constructs entire worlds born from the relationship between shape and color that resonates with a deep emotionality that is the same then perceived by the observer. The visitor, for example, captures the sense of peace and contemplation in front of the Everest work and perceives the harmony of opposites in Kimono Yin-Yang.
