THE ART OF MOVEMENT
The Aesthetics of Winter Sports
Mntn Journal presents The Art of Movement – The Aesthetics of Winter Sports, an exhibition open to the public free of charge from January 28 to March 15,2026.It will be held in two locations: the Manifiesto Blanco gallery in Milan and the Studio Exhibita space in Cortina. The event is supported by Nordica, Dolomiti Superski and Save The Duck. Technical sponsor: Ristorante Sanbrite. We would like to thank Dodi Design and Allestimenti Benfenati for their support in setting up the Milan and Cortina events. The exhibition features 22 works by 16 Italian illustrators who have depicted winter sports exclusively for the magazine. These sports include alpine skiing, biathlon, bobsleigh, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, freestyle skiing, ice hockey, luge, Nordic combined, short track, skeleton, ski jumping, ski mountaineering, snowboarding and speed skating. In addition to these sixteen disciplines, the exhibition also showcases sports practised by disabled athletes, including alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon, para ice hockey, wheelchair curling, and snowboarding. The artists who have captured the gestures, movements, silences and challenges of snow and ice champions through their art are: Emiliano Ponzi, Giordano Poloni, Ludovica Basso, Davide Barco, Alessandro La Monica, Luca Grassi, Andrea Tomasino, Erica Lazzeri, Anna Novello, Veronica Pia, Eleonora Goffi, Helga Aversa, Emanuela Carnevale, Gabriele Templorini, Lorenzo Duina and Federico Epis. Winter sports bring together men and women who, for a moment, allow themselves to be guided by winter and embrace its hidden beauty. The Art of Movement: The Aesthetics of Winter Sports
