A workshop with curator and photographer. The workshop, for professional photographers and enthusiasts, aims to learn the skills behind image construction and the photographic frame, through reasoning, semiotics, structuring the concept/idea and its narrative in the portfolio. Two professionals will join you in a weekend workshop through an initial phase of image construction, portfolio and its structure both theoretically and practically. An initial time with the curator will be followed by a shooting phase with a photographer, which will allow participants to practice what they have assimilated and shoot with the support of a professional. After working on one's project independently, one will also have the opportunity to have an online portfolio reading session with the curator in order to deepen each participant's progress. .

Photographic frame theory, semiotics, examples of readings of iconic photographs at various levels

Brief theoretical intro to the technique and construction of the Image and exit to shoot. - Day 2

The construction of the photographic portfolio, concept, narrative, purpose

Afternoon h. 14: 30 - 18: 00 with curator and photographer for viewing shots following exit, suggestions and possible directions for work. Free ONLINE portfolio reading with curator

Usable within 4 months and lasting 20 minutes for each portfolio developed by participants for evaluation, advice, ways forward and presentation of the project. Alessia Locatelli is Artistic Director of the Biennale Internazionale della Fotografia Femminile - BFF and co-director of the Enrico Cattaneo Archive. She is an independent curator and in the organization of exhibitions with institutions and private realities, in Italy and abroad, while in parallel she continues her design and consulting activities. She is the signature of some specialized magazines and critical referent of the Photography Dossier of "CAM, catalog of modern art" (ex-Bolaffi) Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori - Cairo Group. He teaches in photography schools and collaborates as lecturer and visiting professor with universities in the area. He participates in international juries and awards, including the British Journal of Photography, and as folio-reviewer and curator in various FotoFestivals such as Les Rencontres d'Arles. He is also a Nominator at the prestigious Prix Pictet. He is responsible for designing and assisting authors in the selection of papers and mounting materials useful for preservation.
