The Skiri Trophy Cross Country, the famous Fiemme trophy that has been enlivening the winter of a new generation of cross-country skiing enthusiasts for over four decades, returns in the Olympic season and will hold its 42nd edition at Passo Lavazè on the weekend of 17 and 18 January 2026.Passo Lavazè was home to the Skiri Trophy in 1986,1988,1989,1991 and 1992,and in what will be a special year for Val di Fiemme with the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, it is ready to welcome back the cheerful Skiri Trophy caravan. The Under-10,Under-12,Under-14 and Under-16 categories will take part, with cross-country skiers from Italy and around the world competing with the desire to write their names in the roll of honour, but also and above all with the enthusiasm typical of the younger generation in living with simplicity and love for the sport, enjoying exciting days with skis on their feet. GS Castello di Fiemme, the historic organising committee behind the event, and its coordinator Nicoletta Nones, are already working alongside numerous volunteers and are preparing to take action to lay the foundations for the new edition of the Skiri Trophy 2026.The appointment for the ‘squirrels’ is in mid-January for the 42nd edition of the Skiri Trophy Cross Country, to be enjoyed between Passo Lavazè and Castello di Fiemme, where there will be plenty of exciting entertainment and side events to suit all tastes.
