Some moments in history are destined to remain eternal. The MTB World Championship in 1991 at Ciocco, in Tuscany, was the first world event organized on European soil and it was the 'Living Mountain' of the Garfagnana that hosted it, thus starting a long and renowned tradition in the most important fat wheel competitions. The Ciocco '91 – The MTB Olympus event, from 7 to 8 October 2023,will celebrate this long sporting history, on the route that will almost perfectly follow that of the 1991 World Championship. In Barga, in the green heart of Tuscany, bikers are invited from 16 years and older who will be able to show off their "vintage" mtb built before 2000 with 26'' wheels and their vintage clothing. It will be a dive into the past that will celebrate the present and the future of a place that has by now become a symbol of Italian and international MTB and a coveted destination for every champion: since that distant 1991,the Tenuta del Ciocco has hosted the European Championship and the Bike World Cup trial, many national XC competitions, the Italian Youth XC Cup, as well as the first Italian Pump Track Championship, without forgetting the European Youth XC Championships next August. The Ciocco Sport Lab ASD Organizing Committee thus reconfirms itself as an active and enterprising subject in the promotion of sport, attentive to innovation and, at the same time, with an eye to the past and what it can teach.
