Italy's most famous Triathlon race blows out 40 candles and celebrates the milestone in grand style, promising its public of enthusiastic fans competitive spirit and great spectacle against the backdrop of the breathtaking scenery of Lake Garda. Forty years have in fact already passed since 2 September 1984,when on the idea of Camillo Cametti, today honorary president of the FITRI, and Dante Armanini, president of the G. S. Bardolino and beating heart of the event, a swimming, cycling and running race was held on the Veronese shore of Lake Garda over the distances that would later become those of the Olympic discipline. The race, scheduled for Saturday, 14 June, includes 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling between Pastrengo, Affi and Caprino Veronese, and 10 km of running through the town's historic centre, with a rich prize money of €15,000 to be distributed among the winners. Anticipation is high for an event that has become a regular feature and that, thanks to the masterful work of the G. S. Bardolino, has been thrilling and entertaining thousands of athletes and supporters for years.
