Gianni Mantovani’s exhibition features paintings inspired by the environment, reflecting the artist’s deep-rooted sensitivity toward nature. Landscapes, flowers, and natural elements are depicted through primary, essential forms, drawing upon personal memories and a dreamlike vision. A defining motif of the works on display is the landscape set against a red background; as the warmest color, red serves as a reference to global warming and the concerning, increasingly rapid pace of climate change. The titles chosen by Gianni Mantovani touch upon the emotions of life, dreams, and a hopeful, trusting vision of creation. (Nature gifts us life; plants embroider the sky; let there be light in the heavens—the sky, too, helps us to live; listening to the breath of plants; our own place in the universe; leaves whispering poems to one another; the resting of the wind; the light that will bring about our rebirth. )
