At the Granfondo Dobbiaco-Cortina, you leave your mark—on the snow and in history! In fact, this famous cross-country skiing event will reach the special milestone of its 50th anniversary on February 6 and 7,2027.Every kilometer of the race tells the story of the passion that, since 1977,has brought together over 75,000 cross-country skiers from around the world, who have taken turns over the years between the Puster Valley and the Ampezzo Alps with enthusiasm and a desire to challenge themselves. The first weekend in February is definitely one to circle in red on your calendar, with two races in two days that promise exciting competition on narrow skis as well as plenty of fun off the trail. The 50th Dobbiaco-Cortina Granfondo will kick off on Saturday with the 42-km classic-style race, followed on Sunday by the 35-km freestyle race—courses that will demand intensity, technique, and good endurance from those aiming for the podium. Competitors will gather at the Dobbiaco military airport for the start, passing through the Nordic Arena, Lake Dobbiaco, Lake Landro, and the Cimabanche Pass on Saturday—the point from which the final descent begins toward Ospitale and the finish line in Cortina d’Ampezzo, at the foot of the Pomagagnon mountain range. On Sunday, however, after the start, the 35 km race will head directly to the Nordic Arena, following the former railroad line to the finish line in Cortina d’Ampezzo. Once again this year, the event is part of the international Ski Classics Challengers circuit, dedicated to long-distance specialists who will compete for important and prestigious points in the 42-km classic-style race and the 35-km skating race. The organizing committee is already hard at work, led as always by President Herbert Santer, Vice President Igor Gǒmbac, and a team of passionate volunteers. The Granfondo Dobbiaco-Cortina is set to make history, where every cross-country skier—from enthusiasts to established athletes—can celebrate an unforgettable milestone together: half a century of history!
