Plato, the Medici, and Leonardo: A Day Bringing Beauty Back to the Forefront

On November 7,2026—as it does every year—Florence will host “The Ideal Beauty” (*La Bellezza Ideale*), a cultural event dedicated to the revival of the Neoplatonic Academy and the humanistic vision that transformed the city into one of Europe’s most significant intellectual laboratories. The event will take place in the *Sala del Pegaso* at the Tuscany Region headquarters, marking the historic anniversary that Lorenzo the Magnificent once dedicated to the memory of Plato. The gathering brings together scholars, researchers, and institutions to explore the role of Beauty as a form of knowledge—a central theme of Renaissance culture. As the project statement notes: “Beauty was not merely considered an aesthetic quality, but a profound dimension of existence, through which humanity could draw closer to knowledge, harmony, and an understanding of the universe. ” The program begins at 9: 00 AM and will feature presentations on new research concerning Leonardo da Vinci, the unveiling of a facsimile of the *Madrid Codex*, the history of the Medici Villas, and a contemporary dialogue promoted by the UNESCO Club of Florence. Attendance is free, but space is limited. Reservations are required and can be made by emailing info@progettoleonardo500.Org or via WhatsApp at 3888274551.
